FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The key answers on compatibility, installation, shipping and ordering.

Compatibility and size

Will the tuning blade disc fit my robotic mower?

The round mount fits mowers with a round motor mount and 22 mm hole spacing, for example Gardena Sileno City, Sileno Life and Smart Sileno. For Worx Landroid from 2020 (for example M500, M700, M1000) there is the hex mount in the 14.5 cm disc.

For Husqvarna Automower, McCulloch, Flymo, Kress, LandXcape, Ferrex, Scheppach and Einhell, please compare the mount with the reference photos and measure the hole spacing before buying. The quickest way is the compatibility check.

Which disc size should I choose?

With the round mount the discs come in 14.5, 17, 19 and 21 cm diameter. That gives roughly 18, 20, 22 and 24 cm effective cutting width. With the hex mount (Worx Landroid) there is only the 14.5 cm disc, because the disc sits off-centre there.

First measure the cutting width your mower has today. Then check under the housing whether a disc with the effective cutting width you want would run freely there, also at your cutting height.

How do I measure the hole spacing?

On your mower's motor mount, measure the distance from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the neighbouring hole. It should be 22 mm. Callipers are most accurate, a ruler is usually fine.

Also check the shape: round motor mount (round mount) or hexagonal shaft (hex mount). Both mounts have 22 mm hole spacing. The compatibility check shows photos of both mounts.

Which disc fits the Worx Landroid?

For Worx Landroid from 2020 with a hexagonal motor shaft, for example M500 (WR141E), M700 (WR142E), M1000 (WR143E), M500 Plus (WR165E), M700 Plus (WR167E) and Vision M600 (WR206E), the 14.5 cm disc with hex mount and 6 blades fits.

On these models the disc sits off-centre in the housing (Cut to Edge), so larger discs would hit the housing. Older Landroid models up to 2019 have a different mount.

How much wider does the tuning blade disc cut?

On the Gardena Sileno City the original disc is about 14.5 cm across with about 16 cm effective cutting width. With the tuning blade disc it is about 18, 20, 22 or 24 cm, depending on the size. The mower cuts closer to edges and beds, leaving less for the trimmer.

How far you can go depends on the space under your mower's housing. Before buying, check that the disc runs freely at your cutting height.

Does the disc fit Gardena R-series mowers (e.g. R50i)?

We have not checked the fit for the R-series, and the disc most likely does not fit there. Please measure the hole spacing of your mount (it must be 22 mm, centre to centre) and compare it with our reference photos in the compatibility check. You are also welcome to send us a photo first.

Installation and maintenance

Do I have to remove the blade guard?

On most compatible models, yes: the original blade guard (blade cover) has to be removed, otherwise the disc rubs against it. After mounting, make sure the disc runs freely at your cutting height. On some models the splash guard may need adjusting.

How often should I change the blades?

That depends on lawn size, mowing time and ground conditions. As a guideline, follow what mower manufacturers recommend for their blades: roughly every 6 to 8 weeks during the mowing season. Gravel, stones or sand in the lawn make blades go blunt faster.

Change them at the latest when grass tips look frayed instead of cleanly cut or a blade is damaged, and always replace all blades and screws at the same time so the disc runs evenly. Matching replacement blades including M4 screws are available from us.

Does the upgrade affect my mower's manufacturer warranty?

That depends on the mower manufacturer's warranty terms. A manufacturer's warranty is voluntary and its scope is set by the manufacturer. Damage caused by third-party accessories or parts is often excluded.

Regardless of this, you have statutory warranty rights against the retailer you bought the mower from. They cover defects that already existed at the time of purchase, not damage that only arises from the upgrade.

Our tip: keep the original disc and refit it before you send the mower in for repair or servicing. The tuning blade disc is not an original spare part, and SolutionPrint is not affiliated with the mower manufacturers.

Does the mower get louder with the tuning disc?

Customers describe an even hum from the larger disc, "like a small vacuum cleaner". In their experience the cutting noise itself tends to get quieter and the blades run more smoothly than with the original disc. From a few metres away the difference is barely noticeable.

Which blades fit the tuning blade disc?

Blades measuring 35 × 18 × 0.75 mm with a hole for an M4 screw fit, like our replacement blades. They are screwed into the brass threaded inserts with M4 screws, one screw per blade. Always change all blades and screws at the same time so the disc stays balanced.

Can I refit the original disc?

Yes. The tuning blade disc is fitted with your mower's standard fixing and nothing on the mower is modified. Keep the original disc and its screws, then you can switch back at any time, for example before servicing at a dealer.

Can I fit longer blades?

Yes, longer blades with a hole for an M4 screw can be fitted. This makes the cutting circle a little larger. Afterwards, check at your cutting height that the disc runs freely with the blades everywhere, and always change all blades at once so the disc stays balanced.

Material and durability

What is the tuning blade disc made of and how heavy is it?

The disc is made of PETG and is 3D-printed to order. The blades are screwed into brass threaded inserts with M4 screws.

Depending on its size, the disc weighs about 70 to 120 g without blades.

How long does the disc last?

We and our customers have been using the discs for about two years without any notable problems. The blades are the wear parts; depending on your lawn you change them every few weeks.

If a material defect does occur, we replace the disc under our 1-year durability guarantee (see "Is there a guarantee on the tuning blade disc?"). Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.

Does my mower's battery runtime get shorter?

That can happen: a larger disc with more blades needs a little more power, so the runtime per battery charge may drop slightly.

In return, the larger cutting circle and the extra blades let the mower cut a wider path on each pass. In theory it therefore needs less mowing time for the same area.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Every disc is made to order and dispatched no later than the working day after payment. Within Germany, shipping by large letter is free and includes basic tracking; under German postal law, letters are usually delivered within three working days. A tracked DHL parcel, which can also go to a DHL parcel locker (Packstation), costs €2.99.

Do you ship abroad?

Yes, to all countries of the European Union. Shipping as an international large letter is free, includes basic tracking and usually takes 3–5 working days after dispatch. We currently do not ship outside the EU.

Ordering, guarantee and withdrawal

Can I get an invoice?

Yes. Anyone can request an invoice from us, private customers and businesses alike. Simply send us an email with your order number and you will receive the invoice as a PDF by email. Businesses, please tell us the company name and address to be shown on the invoice.

Why is no VAT charged?

SolutionPrint is a small business under Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG). Therefore no VAT is charged or shown on the invoice. All prices are final prices. For businesses, this means the invoice contains no VAT that could be deducted as input tax.

How do I withdraw from my order?

You can withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The easiest way is the “Withdraw from contract” button at the bottom of every page, or by email or letter. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Full details are in the cancellation policy.

Is there a guarantee on the tuning blade disc?

Yes. In addition to your statutory rights, we give a 1-year durability guarantee from delivery on the tuning blade disc including mount and brass threaded inserts. If the disc breaks or a threaded insert comes loose under normal use, we replace it free of charge. Just send us an email with your order number and a photo.

Blades and screws are wear parts and are excluded, as is damage caused by stones or other foreign objects, accidents and incorrect installation.

Your statutory warranty rights (2 years from delivery for consumers) apply independently and are not restricted by this guarantee.

What if the disc does not fit?

As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the goods. Send the disc back unused; you pay the return shipping. How it works is explained in the cancellation policy. Ideally send us a photo of your mount first, we can often find the right disc together.
